I dedicate the December planning meeting to the ideological flower - Schlumberger (known among us as the Decembrist). And the idea of ​​the plant is to instantly eject buds when the duration of daylight hours becomes only 8-9 hours a day.. The flowering time depends on this criterion!

Why does the Decembrist bloom twice a year

The Decembrist is dismissed at any time of the year. The fact of flowering depends only on the availability of conditions.

If you look at the table of the duration of daylight hours per year, you can find out a pleasant fact. Comrade, there are 2 months a year when the sun shines for 8-9 hours: this is November and... February. Yes, in February the Decembrists are ready for the second wave of flowering. Because the lighting is right!

But why does the Decembrist do it so rarely? Because citizens carelessly forget about the houseplant immediately after the end of flowering. And not prepare Schlumberger to the second wave of bloom. But in vain!

What to do with a Schlumberger in December so that she can get buds again in February

First of all, let's do justice to the houseplant. It tried its best and made us happy. In response, put things in order in a pot with a fading Decembrist. Take away anything that has already faded or has begun to fade.

Then wait until it's time to water the Decembrist. Let the soil in the pot dry out thoroughly by 3-5 cm. And then you need to arrange a hot shower, flushing the dust from the Schlumberger shoots and wetting a clod of earth.

Hot shower - such that the hand can tolerate the water temperature without discomfort. Don't overdo it, comrade. After the bath procedure, the plant is left in a warm place until the drops on the greenery dry out.

Return the pot to its original place, where it has already bloomed. If flowering did not occur, then choose a place with a brighter lighting.

Now it is important to do top dressing. To stimulate abundant flowering in the Decembrist at the end of winter, regularly treat the plant: 1 time in 2 weeks. The preparation method and dosage are indicated in the instructions for each specific type of fertilizer.

I noticed that the Decembrists respond well to watering with hydrogen peroxide. This does not affect flowering - it just improves health.

But for comrades who want to see super-abundant flowering, I suggest making foliar feeding. This means that the Decembrist needs to be sprayed with a prepared solution from a spray bottle.

• Potassium monophosphate - a mineral combination (very successful!) of the two main macronutrients for flowering. Phosphorus and potassium. Sold in bags. For a Decembrist, 1 g is diluted per 1 liter of water.
• Boric acid in the form of a powder - a stimulant for the growth of buds and the formation of ovaries. Sold in bags too. This is a trace element, so it must be taken less than potassium monophosphate: no more than 0.5 g per 1 liter.
