Yeast for fast emergence and strong root development of seedlings.
Yeast is very often used to feed seedlings in order to accelerate plant growth and the formation of a powerful root system. Those nutrients that are found in large quantities in yeast have a beneficial effect on plants.
Experienced gardeners use various nutrient solutions from yeast in order to provide plants with trace elements and natural growth stimulants in sufficient quantities.
Thus, the seedlings become strong and resistant to many diseases. Also, plants are much easier to tolerate changes in the weather.
In order for the yeast feeding to be more effective, it should be applied correctly, namely in warm soil. Since yeast works better in warmth, and in cold it does not work at all.
When should yeast nutrient solution be added?
It is best to do this in the spring, when the seedlings are planted and the temperature is warm outside. In the fall, feeding is also effective.
In order for the yeast to work better, wood ash is used in conjunction with it, which contains a large amount of calcium.
For seedlings to grow well, regardless of light, use yeast solutions. In addition, roots in young plants form faster and become stronger.
It is especially useful to feed the seedlings with yeast before planting in a greenhouse or in the ground. Young plants take root much better.
How to prepare yeast supplements?
Some dressings have been tested by experienced gardeners and have a beneficial effect on the plants.
1. 5 tablespoons of sugar and 15 grams of dry yeast are added to one bucket of water. The water should be warm. The solution is stirred and left for a couple of hours, and then diluted 1:10 with water.
2. If you are using live yeast, then you should take 5 liters of warm water for 1 kg of yeast. After mixing the solution, let it brew, and then dilute with water 1:10. Add wood ash (250g) for top dressing.
3. 25 grams of dry yeast is poured into 10 liters of warm water. Add 5 tablespoons of sugar there and mix well. The solution is infused for about 5 hours, and then diluted in a ratio of 1:10.
In addition to yeast, a sourdough made from wheat grain is used. Sprouted grains are crushed, sugar is added to them (2 tablespoons), mixed and cooked over low heat.
The mixture is then set in a warm place for two days.
These dressings are easy to prepare, but very effective.
