How and what I water house plants in winter. Flowers grow well and bloom gorgeous
Winter is a difficult period for most indoor plants. Residents of the tropics (and most of our favorite plants are from there) do not tolerate the lack of lighting and the dry air of our apartments.
How I support the health of my pets and achieve gorgeous winter blooms, I will tell below.
What feeding do I use
I have several proven drugs in my arsenal to help plants stay healthy during the winter.
1. Aspirin.
An aspirin tablet, dissolved in water for irrigation (1 piece per 1 liter), will strengthen the flower's immunity, and will help in photosynthesis. I water the home flower garden with "asperin water" 1 time in 2 months.
2. Aloe juice.
Excellent natural biostimulant suitable for watering and spraying. Accelerates the growth of green mass, has a beneficial effect on root formation. I mix freshly squeezed aloe juice with warm water (1 tsp. l. 1.5-2 l). Frequency of watering or spraying - 1 time per month.
3. Fertilizer Bona Forte.
One of the best complex fertilizers for feeding flowering plants. Increases the number of buds, enhances the color of flowers. I dissolve 1 cap of nutrient fluid in 1.5 liters of water, water it 2 times a month. I exclude this fertilizer only during the dormant period of plants.
4. Milk serum.
Serves at the same time as feeding and preventing the development of fungal diseases, since lactic acid bacteria suppress the development of pathogenic microflora. 1 hour l. I dilute fresh serum with water to a glass, wipe the leaves with the resulting liquid or spray the plants once every 2 weeks.
5. Granulated sugar.
Glucose stimulates all vital processes of the plant, giving it energy. Enough 1 tsp. l. Pour sugar into 1 liter of water for irrigation. I do not often water the flowers with sweet water, so as not to provoke the appearance of midges, once a month is enough.
How I water
In winter, I especially carefully monitor the soil moisture in pots. Excess water in the substrate quickly leads to root rot. It is especially dangerous if the flower is on a cold windowsill and the soil temperature does not exceed 12 degrees.
If it is impossible to move the flower into warmth, I wrap the pot with a piece of foil insulation and water the flowers only with warm water, no more than once a week, be sure to drain excess water from pallet.
Important! It is impossible to achieve lush flowering of indoor flowers in winter without providing the plants with additional lighting using phytolamps. Daylight hours should not be shorter than 12 hours.
