Many people are interested in useful tips. I recently wrote an article about little tricks from the Soviet era. In the comments, some wrote that they would like to continue. I decided to write part 3. If anyone is interested, here the first and second part.

I think many are interested in nostalgic, remembering the very font in the magazine "Science and Life". I remember the pictures that came with the text. They graphically illustrated all Soviet tricks.

I clearly remember one piece of advice for housewives from the Rabotnitsa magazine. It seems strange now. So, when we planned to do the laundry (there were no washing machines), we ate pasta that day.

The water was not drained, but used for laundry. In this way, they starch the linen and save up to 10 rubles a year on the purchase of starch.

Curtain hooks. Such a product was also in short supply. Therefore, in Soviet times, they did so. String cornice is the simplest and most budgetary option. The downside is that over time it starts to sag. But we're talking about hooks. They were replaced by pins with buttons. Very convenient and easy to remove.

FROM furniture and now there are problems. The doors fly off, the screws do not hold. B. Grabilin advised to do so. Drill a longer hole in diameter. Insert a wooden plug into the hole. Fix it with glue, and then tighten the screw.

Enamel old baths went cracks, chips. No problem. It turns out there is an easy way to update it. Kh. Vozvakhov shared his advice. First, the bath is degreased with a solvent, dried, and then a little nitro paint (white) is poured. Grind thoroughly and leave to dry. Then do this several times until all the pores are closed in the enamel. Excess paint can be removed with a cloth dampened in solvent. The final layer of nitro paint is applied with a spray can.

Brushthat was painted with varnish was not thrown away. It is expensive to clean it with a solvent and was not always on hand. Therefore, after painting, they put the brush in water. Of course, the varnish didn't clean up on its own. But it hardened, became loose, and could be cleaned without problems. (photo below)

For homemade preparations have come up with a useful thing. They cut out an elliptical board and used it as oppression. It was recommended to put a currant leaf under homemade oppression. Another interesting thing about the soldering iron (see photo).
