Cultivator attachment or milling cutter for a petrol trimmer for weeding a vegetable garden

It would seem that all possible nozzles for the petrol trimmer have already been shown on these pages (list at the end of the article). But I missed one. This is a cultivator attachment. Cultivator - this, of course, is said loudly. Although, the principle of operation is the same.

This is one of the most common patterns. Four cutters mounted on a shaft passing through the gearbox. Everything is like a real cultivator. Except for weight. It is because of the weight that it is impossible to fully use the attachment as a cultivator. It is very difficult to bury it in the ground. Or you need to make efforts with your hands, which is bad for a brushcutter bar.

As a rule, most of these attachments come with 9 teeth and on a shaft with a diameter 26 mm. The set includes a cover to protect the soil and stones from being thrown out from under the cutter. The cutters themselves also come in different geometries. They can theoretically sink into the ground for 110 mm (if the ground is loose). And the width of the tillage - 260 mm.

After watching a number of videos, I came to the conclusion that no - you need to press hard on the tool, the ground should be loose and dry. Then it will be possible to dig up, but the speed of work will be low.

The nozzle is more suitable for weeding the garden (potatoes between the rows) and for loosening the dug soil. Because trimmer power is small, then manufacturers offer cutters in this version:

As you can see, there are design flaws. Specifically, in this model there is an engineer flaw - the grease itself does not enter the bushing. The rubbing sleeve must be lubricated through the hole and the lubrication in the gearbox must be checked before operation.

This is a nozzle of four vertical cutters, rotating from the drive through gears inside the body. The attachment is designed for weeding and loosening to a depth of 5 cm. Tool width - 21 cm. And it seemed to me that this cutter weeds the soil more efficiently and faster.

Appearance and structure of the nozzle. Such attachments are also available with two cutters. I myself would have purchased such a nozzle at a reasonable price. Weeding the garden, loosening the soil is simplified and would take less time.
