It's time to sow indoor tomatoes
Every January, I do the first crops of window vegetables - dill, window tomatoes and parthenocarpic cucumbers. There is snow outside the window, and cucumbers are pouring on my lashes - beauty!
I looked at the lunar sowing calendar for January 2021 and saw that January 16 is considered an auspicious day for planting tomatoes. I did not believe it, I decided to check it out. And, in fact, the moon is in the sign of Pisces, and this is a completely fertile sign. On January 18, the moon will turn into Aries, this is just an infertile sign. Therefore, on January 13-14, you can soak tomatoes, and on January 16, sow them.
To plant tomatoes, you need to prepare the soil. I prepared the soil in the fall, it lies under the roof in a cold yard, freezes over. I also have 5 liter bottles ready, which are the best for growing window vegetables. They are spacious and, of course, economical.
I add superphosphate to the thawed soil, then pour it into plastic containers and sow the pre-soaked tomatoes. I fall asleep them 5 mm - 1 cm with soil, water and cover with cling film. It is thin and very transparent, therefore, even if not opened, the seedlings will not stretch out.
After the emergence of shoots, I grow them to a real leaf and cut them into cut 5-liter containers. There they grow until flowers appear. After that I add the soil.
Soon tomatoes are poured, which ripen and collect them as they become ripe.
And now the most important thing - which varieties are likely to give a harvest? I have in the photo the variety Balcony Miracle - it will certainly delight you with abundant brushes. Its only drawback is that it is very high, over a meter. Therefore, it is necessary to provide in advance the possibility of tying it up on the window.
Last year, I also planted Bonsai. Honestly, I didn’t. It seems to me that the reason is bad seeds, because my girlfriend had the same variety from another company and the whole plant was covered with tomatoes. I definitely want to buy other seeds this year, because Bonsai looks wonderful - a short bush covered with delicious fruits. And I also bought the Alaska variety, I want to try it.
I plan to soak three seeds of each variety. That is, I hope that I will have 6 window tomatoes, 2 plants each. If everyone springs up, I will share the seedlings with my friends.
Try to grow tomatoes on the windowsill - it's nice, beautiful and delicious!
