Every winter I work with snow at my dacha. Looks strange, but useful
Fiery fireworks, comrades summer residents!
Do you want to do useful garden work? January is not a reason to sit back and dreamily look out the window. In the middle of winter, I definitely visit the dacha and pay attention... snow. The work is pleasant, the benefits are great, and the frosty air tingles your cheeks pleasantly!
Snow is the best shelter
Severe frosts, alternating with thaws - the risk of freezing even cold-resistant ornamental crops. I will be calmer if roses, peonies and phloxes are surely under reliable protection.
If the roses are covered by the method of an air-dry shelter, then the peonies and phloxes are hoping exclusively for the best insulation option created by nature - snow.
Every winter I throw more snow on the flower beds and covering material over the roses. So the rhizomes will be reliably protected from critical sub-zero temperatures. Therefore, if there is very little snow, and the weather forecast promises a colder snap, it is better to devote half an hour to working with a shovel.
Protecting trees from snow
The opposite situation - too much snow fell. He lies on the branches with a fluffy blanket. I just want to take a picture of a winter fairy tale!
But for many trees, fabulous clothing is fraught with danger. In severe frosts, thin and weak branches may not withstand a beautiful but heavy layer of snow. Therefore, every winter I knock snow from especially valuable fruit trees and ornamental shrubs.
If the note was interesting to you - put in the answer "Thumbs up", comrades!
