I compare my sewing machines and my friends, which one is better: I have a mini Jaguar

A sewing machine is not the most common piece of home appliances. This is not a mixer, not a food processor that is used every day. But for me it is a necessary thing in the household. Moreover, I am not engaged in professional sewing.

Hemming the curtains, cutting down the tea towels, putting on patches and sewing up the torn seams on children's clothes - I do all this on a typewriter. In addition, I can quickly sew a light summer skirt for one season, a kitchen apron or potholders.

My friend sews better than me, but also not a professional. And we decided to compare with her who has a better sewing machine, because our machines are quite good.

I have a mini Jaguar. This is a great machine, I have not known any problems with it for several years. It can carry out 9 sewing operations.

A friend has "Janome Lady 735". It is larger in size, and significantly exceeds mine in functionality - it performs 15 operations.

Both cars are electric foot operated.

This is very convenient, because your hands are completely free. Manual cars, of course, have already outlived theirs.

The location of the coil on both machines is horizontal. If someone decides to buy a sewing unit for themselves, choose exactly with this position of the coil. Unwinding is smoother and does not overlap around the core, as is the case with simple machines with a vertical spool.

Both machines have a compartment for accessories that can be removed and the sleeve platform is released, which allows you to work, for example, with trousers without unstitching the seams.

Our devices are, of course, equipped with backlighting, which is very convenient. Even for me, a person with poor eyesight, there is an opportunity to work comfortably.

And now about the disadvantages. My Jaguar is moody enough. After the purchase, it turned out that she was not set up, which was an unpleasant surprise. I had to look for a master and give it to the adjustment. After that, everything is fine, and I sew with pleasure.

But I already know all the whims, I know when to change needles for thicker fabrics and threads. Therefore, an inexperienced user will take time to get used to.

But Genome is a machine without "quirks". I sewed on it several times with a friend, until I had a Jaguar. It is very pleasant, soft, patient and can sew many fabrics without changing needles.

It immediately becomes clear that a friend has a better machine. But mine now costs about 7,000 rubles, and Zhenome - about 13,000 rubles. Therefore, it is worth considering whether you need 15 functions that you will not use, or buy a good, reliable machine at a cheaper price and use it to the fullest.
