I tell you how I water Pepper seedlings and get healthy and strong plants

Every gardener knows that it is not so easy to grow a good harvest of pepper, but many people forget how important it is to water the seedlings! Through a lot of trial and error, I came up with a "formula" for the correct watering of young peppers and I think my experience can be useful to many!

And above all, you need to be able to recognize the moment when the seedlings of vegetables, in principle, need watering. The easiest way to check is to get some soil out of the container and form a ball in your fingers. If the soil is moistened enough, it will retain its shape, almost will not fall apart, and if it crumbles, it needs to be watered.

If the temperature in the room exceeds + 24 ° C, it is important to check the ground not only from the bottom, but from the bottom of the containers with seedlings. To do this, it is enough to insert a toothpick into the drainage hole - if it comes out wet, it means that the plant still has enough water, and if it is dry, it’s time to water.

Water for irrigation should be settled - it is enough to collect it in a container in the evening. There is an opinion that melt water is incredibly useful for irrigation, but personally I did not notice any difference, which means why bother more than the required minimum?

And the water should also be warm, while watering cold - can provoke a disease that is fatal to seedlings called "Black Leg".

Seedlings begin to water (ceasing to irrigate from a spray bottle) when the first leaves appear. It is important to pour water little by little - otherwise, the root system that has just begun to form risks rotting. And only when the seedlings grow to 8-12 cm in height and form 4-6 leaves, you can begin to water fully.

I want to add that when watering, water should never be on the leaves of the pepper - so they risk easily getting sunburn.

I have another secret of watering pepper seedlings. Literally a day or two before planting it in open ground, when the plants have already hardened in the open air, I definitely feed it with ash - 100 g of additive per 10 liters of water.

Thanks to this little trick, my seedlings easily adapt to a permanent place, soon start growing, bloom quickly and, as a result, bring a gorgeous harvest!

In conclusion of the topic, I want to warn against the introduction of nitrogen fertilizers for seedlings at the stage of growing at home. With such fertilization, the pepper will tend to grow green mass, almost without spending energy on fruiting.
