China doubles green power plant commissioning rate in 2020

Thus, according to NEA data, by the end of 2020, China had a total wind generation of 281.5 GW and about 253.4 GW of solar power. And according to the plan, in the next 10 years, the total capacity of wind and solar stations should be at least 1200 GW.

And in the course of time, the share of generation of non-fossil energy sources should be at least 25% of the total generation of the country, and at the moment this figure is at the level of 15%.

Despite such significant successes in green energy, China does not forget about energy security and also increased the commissioning of thermal power plants to its five-year maximum to a considerable 56.37 GW.

So only in the first half of 2020 in China, the construction of thermal power plants with a total capacity of 11 GW was completed and about 53 GW were introduced into the planned project portfolio. For you to understand the scale, the above figures are 90% of the combined world indicator.
