Amazing uses of eggshells in everyday life that I learned about not so long ago! 6 practical examples
To make an omelet, fried egg, salad or dough, you first need a chicken egg. The number one food product taking advantage of its daily relevance. But my channel is far from culinary, and therefore I will not continue to talk about recipes in which the main "hero" is an egg. My material's target item for today is an eggshell!
Good afternoon dear friends!
Which ruthlessly goes to the trash can along with a weighty list of its useful properties. Just so you know, shells are 95% calcium! How do you like that? Is its destruction justified, after such amazing indicators? Of course not! But what is it for, and where can the shell be irreplaceable? This is what we are talking about today!
In general, I will not rant for a long time, but I will introduce you 6 good reasons why you shouldn't mindlessly throw eggshells in the bin.
1. Seed container. An extremely relevant option on the eve of the summer season, as you need to have time to stock up on eggshells. And further! You will have to abandon the classic breaking of an egg with a knife in favor of a more accurate opening, because you still need 2/3 of the shell. You will pour the earth into it, and then plant the seeds. By the way, at the time of planting seedlings in a greenhouse or vegetable garden, you will not necessarily need to free the plant from the shell. Feel free to plant it immediately in this "container"!
The method is unique not only for its convenience, but also for its usefulness. Because the shell will dissolve in the ground over time, providing the young plant with the necessary calcium.
2. "Sweetener" coffee. Yes Yes exactly! Paradoxically, tasteless eggshells can lower the acidity in coffee. This happens if the drink has been brewed for a longer period of time. The shells of one egg, ground into powder, can correct the "sour" coffee situation for four cups of coffee. It will simply sweeten the drink, bringing back its rich natural taste.
Also, the crushed egg shell will prevent the coffee grounds from boiling. Agree?! A convenient safety net when there is no way to control the process at the stove.
3. Additive for growing tomatoes. Do your tomatoes grow poorly and start to rot? This is most often the result of a lack of calcium. Therefore, do not rush to the store and buy expensive mineral fertilizers! Since you have at home, most likely, you already have a natural top dressing - this is an eggshell.
Just spread it around the root, lightly pressing the shell into the ground. And VOIL - the plant will compensate for the calcium deficiency and subsequently give you beautiful and tasty fruits.
4. Toothpaste ingredient. Have you ever studied the composition of a regular toothpaste? Not! Well, well, because, having read it once, you may not want to use it in the future. Therefore, I propose to take the situation into our own hands and prepare a handmade paste. Moreover, it is quite simple to make it! You will need to grind the glass of the shell first, then dry it in the oven. Then add a tablespoon of baking soda, 20 drops of coconut oil and 1 gram of cloves.
Here, in fact, that's all - the powder that strengthens tooth enamel and whitens teeth is ready!
5. Detergent for laundry. If your laundry has become dull, do not rush to add bleach to the washing machine! Since there is an equally effective and at the same time extremely cheap way to return the former freshness to your things. To do this, you need to pour the shell into the cheesecloth and add a few slices of lemon to it. Then tie it up and put it inside the washing machine. All.
Believe me, even the most effective chemical bleach will not cope with the task as this mixture does!
6. Abrasive for dishes. Well, this is the easiest way to use eggshells. Or, more precisely, the powder from it! So put it on a sponge, add some dish soap, then take a dirty, burnt pan and start washing it.
Before you even have time to blink, it will become perfectly clean, literally after a few touches of the sponge.
