Testing two-component adhesive with activator Turbofix 805
Greetings.
Some time ago I spoke with a company representative Turbofix.
The company produces two-component super glue and I was asked to test their products and share my impressions.
We have sent test glue samples and I am sharing the test results.
First, I checked how this glue will glue the sandpaper to the plywood.
It took less than a minute to make such a block of sandpaper. And such bars are very convenient to work with.
Next, I glued the rubber pad to the milling base of the Enkor edger. This three basic bevelling router has the overlays on the bases glued with some kind of.., but no, in general, glue and they need to be re-glued.
The cover stuck quickly and securely.
Then I decided to check how this glue copes with metal. For the test, I took a pair of duralumin plates 5 mm thick. I decided to glue the edge to the plane. The surfaces were pre-cleaned and made sure that they fit snugly.
The gluing itself takes place in several steps. First, glue is applied to one side, it comes in the form of a gel and therefore it is applied easily and does not spread where it is not needed. An activator is applied to the second side, it contributes to the quick setting of the glue. After applying the activator, it is worth waiting for 1-2 seconds, and then firmly press the parts to be glued to each other.
In addition, I missed the gluing place with more glue. (Scroll through the gallery)
With additional coating, the connection is stronger.
I made several samples with metal. The connection does not withstand a hammer blow, but it did not work to break it with hands.
Also, this glue is great for quickly bonding chips. (Scroll through the gallery)
Unlike PVA, it took literally a few seconds to restore the part and enough pressure with your hands, and the connection is very strong.
Also, the glue is good for quickly gluing frames.
I tried to glue two pieces together at a 45 ° angle. It turned out quickly and very durable. (Scroll through the gallery)
And I also tried to glue two pieces of MDF for my new corner stop. The result is excellent.
In general, I got extremely positive impressions from the use of this glue. In addition, there is something to compare with.
Several months ago I bought a similar glue in Leroy Merlin. Brand Titan. In general, it seems to be the same glue, but there is a small detail - a cap on the glue dispenser. For Turbofix glue, this cap has a special pin inside, which helps not only to close the glue tightly, but also leaves the dispenser opening always free and the glue is always ready for use. And on Titan, the same cap has a flat bottom and the dispenser is sometimes clogged with dried glue.
A few more words in addition. Turbofix adhesive is available in several packages:
- 50g \ 200 ml. Glue \ Activator
- 65g \ 250 ml. Glue \ Activator
- 100g \ 400 ml. Glue \ Activator
- 130g \ 500 ml. Glue \ Activator
Shelf life is 12 months.
As for the price, in a conversation with a company employeeTurbofix, I found out that the price for glue is about half what I paid for Titan glue of the same packaging. True, now they sell Turbofix glue only in boxes of 24 pcs / box.
I suggest below watch the video clip with review and testing of glue.
