We arrived at the store to buy onion sets, but after seeing the prices, they refused to buy - it's expensive!

In February-March, we always start purchasing for the vegetable garden. This is not a one-time promotion, but a rather long period when we go to stores and buy one thing or the other. This time we came to buy onion sets. We plant about 3 kilograms of different varieties in two families.

But seeing what prices this year, we could not believe our eyes! They are twice as high as in the past! This, of course, we did not expect!

Usually the basis of our plantings is the Stuttgarten Riesen variety - a yellow onion that grows well, is not capricious, and is normally stored until spring. But last year it cost 100 rubles per package, and this year 255 rubles.

For food and salads, I've always planted Red Baron, a sweet red variety. It does not store well, so it was grown a little. But the price of 188 rubles for 480 grams is unrealistic!

Another red onion Carmen is cheaper - 155 rubles per 500 grams. But it's still expensive. This onion tastes very good, it just goes well in salads with fresh tomatoes. I wanted to buy, but my hand did not rise to pay so much money.

We tried to grow white onions several times, but in our conditions it grows medium-sized. Also, it's very spicy, which I don't like. This variety has always been expensive, but 322 rubles per 900 grams! Is that it, is it made of gold, or what?

So we didn't buy anything. Moreover, a turnip onion in Magnet costs 25 rubles per kilogram, it does not need to be planted, weeded, or stored! That is, the benefits are obvious.

But I still do not like purchased vegetables, because I believe that growing them on an industrial scale involves the use of a huge amount of chemistry. After all, they are treated with growth enhancers before planting. During the growing season - fertilizers and pest control products. After harvesting - anti-rotting agents. And then we eat it all!

And so, with such a feeling of regret, we went to the local store of cheap goods Traffic Light, where we wanted to buy cheaper household chemicals.

And suddenly, I see packages of onion sets for 200 rubles. Package weight 2 kilograms! Of course, I was very happy, and we stocked up onions for ourselves and for friends!

It was just a chance that helped me buy a cheap bow so well. But there was an idea to buy at least a little in the first store, because it was always cheaper there.
