Why Dr. Myasnikov advises against drinking vitamins
Usually in winter I try to replenish my vitamin reserves and choose a modern complex for myself. But in one of the interviews, the doctor Alexander Myasnikov dispelled myths about vitamins. It turns out that a healthy person does not need to drink them.
Important for life
Without vitamins, my body is bored, it becomes lethargic, drowsy. This is especially evident in winter and early spring. The reason for this, as I always thought, was a lack of vitamins, because vegetables and fruits were scarce during this period of time. In order not to lead to painful conditions, I drink vitamins every year. Lack of them can lead to rickets in children, anemia in adults and other troubles.
I remember that in the culture of Soviet medicine, the use of vitamins was mandatory: children in kindergartens, in schools, in the form of injections and pills as prevention of various, including colds diseases. With the passage of time, the development of science, the attitude towards vitamins is changing.
Modern medicine tells us about the need for such supplements only in the case of preventing or treating diseases. A healthy person who has a varied diet should not take them.
Who needs vitamins
From Dr. Myasnikov, I learned who needs vitamins. These are people with any metabolic disorders, it requires adjustment and vitamin compensation is one of them.
People with alcohol dependence need additional vitamin supplementation to maintain their health. All the rest, healthy people, neither as a prophylaxis, nor even more so for treatment, do not need supplements.
Why you don't need vitamin A
For a long time, scientists considered the presence of synthetic vitamin A in the body to be healing, hoping that it helps to reduce vision problems. As a result of long-term studies, it turned out that this supplement, on the contrary, leads to complications in the organ of vision.
Another study found the effect of vitamin A on the occurrence of lung cancer. It was decided to cancel excessive doses of the vitamin, and to correct the details of the experiment.
And vitamin C
In general, the expectations of physicians in the need for the prevention of diseases with vitamins did not come true. Synthetic supplements did not bring the expected benefits, and sometimes they did much more harm. As a result of research, vitamin C, the most important for humans, turned out to be the same dummy. It did not in any way affect the improvement of a person's cold condition, and in relation to the prevention of the cardiovascular system, its effect turned out to be exaggerated.
And never vitamin E
From Myasnikov, I heard that at one of the congresses, American cardiologists directly stated that they would never again advise taking vitamin E.
As a result of research, its influence was revealed as negative, creating precedents for diseases, and the synthetic analogue does not solve its problems.
Vitamin B
The big question is the intake of vitamin B, which, according to the research results, has no effect either on the cardiovascular system, or on reducing the risk of cancer. The role of this supplement has been greatly exaggerated.
Now it is clear what clarity the studies have made, and why Myasnikov does not advise drinking vitamins. It is difficult, of course, to accept the new truth, especially when the amount of fresh vegetables is reduced.
