Warmth came and new problems came for my concrete basement. How has the rise in water affected my waterproofing works?

In winter, you always want a sea of ​​snow. Just enjoying this beauty, you do not always think that this sea will float in the spring. And in your home, this can create a number of problems.

So I am still at the stage of building my house, but I have already felt some unpleasant consequences of this process.

When, after frosts of about 20 degrees, the above zero temperature sharply sets in, it is even difficult to get to your construction site. The snow just falls through under the wheels.

And then you see that there is so much water in the ground that it can hardly fit in a ditch,
in which there is no water at all in the summer.

Of course, this will not affect the foundation of the house, but there is a room below..

In previous articles, I wrote about how I applied the first layer of penetrating waterproofing, and left it to dry (for more details, see on my channel). It was during this period that the snow began to melt, with a sharp rise in groundwater.

And this is how it affected the work done.

Apparently the water has reached levels where it has not been before. Accordingly, I found new loopholes for myself in the concrete walls, and the pressure increased.

But this, in fact, is for the best.

In general, in summer, the water level does not rise above the basement floor (this is how I flooded it initially).

Therefore, now, having tested the structure in difficult working conditions, it is more likely that there will be no problems in the future.

And defects were eliminated according to the old scheme.

• First, he repaired the leaks with a quick-hardening compound. The mixture freezes for literally a few seconds, which allows you to patch even leaks under pressure.

• And then, making sure that there was no water inflow, I applied a second layer of penetrating waterproofing.

Of course, only time will show its effectiveness, but I can only hope for the best. I don't know anymore what can be done.
