I decided to try if it is possible to clean the sofa from stains at home with the help of fairies and soda

When a home is a gathering place for guests, including children, stains on the couch are inevitable. So today I have the consequences of a children's holiday in the form of juice spilled on the upholstery.

What i need

For cleaning, I need a dishwashing detergent (faerie or any equivalent), 200ml water, soda, a sponge, a solution container (I have a small saucepan) and a dry towel.

Step-by-step instruction

We will prepare all the things you need for cleaning, be patient and in a good mood, and start the process.

1. Mix 200 ml of water, a tablespoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in a saucepan;

2. We are waiting for 2 minutes of a chemical reaction, the solution begins to foam;

3. With a sponge we evenly distribute our product over the dirty surface of the sofa;

4. We are waiting for 3 minutes for the solution to start working;

5. With a sponge dipped in water, remove the remaining foam and clean the fabric from the soapy state;

6. Wipe the sofa dry with a clean towel.

7. We are waiting for the upholstery to dry completely (several hours) to evaluate the result.

4 hours have passed and the outside of the fabric is dry, although it is still slightly damp to the touch. I think it is already possible to assess the result of the efforts.

I cannot say that the whole cleaning process was easy and pleasant. No, it’s not like that. Half an hour of hard work. The sofa categorically refused to clean, the lathered solution is very difficult to remove from the upholstery (6 times I had to rinse the sponge in water and repeat the steps).

There is practically no result, friends. The stains are a little less noticeable, but this cannot be compared, of course, with the effect of a professional dry cleaning. The method is budgetary and really works only in the case of not severe pollution. If all the upholstery is in serious stains, then it is better not even to try to clean the dirt like this. You will only waste your time. Life hack practically doesn't work.
