The insulation "dances" under your feet. How did I lay the curved EPS boards on the curved concrete floor? I show my method.
Maybe I'm trying to make everything perfect again, where it is not needed? But this is my home, how else ...
Hello everyone! Every time I come across some difficulties at my construction site, I ask myself the question: "Who else besides me will be busy with such trifles?"
And therefore, every time I am convinced that it is not in vain that I build a house with my own hands π.
The next portion was the insulation of the foundation slab from the inside of the house.
And here it was necessary to combine two things.
1. Irregularities on my stove. With this, it seems, the issue was resolved by eliminating defects with a dry building mixture (read more in previous articles on my channel).
2. But then came "from where they did not expect." Insulation is also not ideal!
For example, trying to place two different slabs on the same spot may result in different results. One "dances", the other lies like a glove.
β A tight fit of the insulation is one of the main tasks when insulating the floor.
So you have to combine a curved floor with a curved insulation. And the result is needed "even" π€.
Although not everything is so scary ...
- In most places, the insulation lay down normally. Of course there is a slight deflection, but no more than 2-3 mm.
- And where leveling the floor did not help, plastic dowels came to the rescue.
After all the insulation had been laid, I identified the problem areas (where the EPS was too springy), and fixed the slabs by drilling into the foundation slab.
This process is not complicated, and quite fast. And most importantly, the result is acceptable.
I've seen many examples when each slab was attached to these dowels at several points.
In my opinion, this is too much, and is not necessary, at least in my case.
β The main task is to press the insulation to the plate, and I did it where it was needed. And where the slabs were already lying tight, then they will not go anywhere without additional fastening.
But there were some nuances in working with dowels, I will write about this in the next article.
