I smooth out the unevenness of the plate for insulation with EPS. I am showing you a simple and quick way.

Well, I didn't manage to fill in the ideal plane of the foundation slab... Now you need to get out of the situation, and preferably with minimal losses.

Friends, everyone, a huge hello! Work continues on the insulation of my slab foundation, from the inside. Well, how are they going on, while everything is at the initial, preparatory stage.

Now you need to solve the problem with curved concrete.

When you take concrete from a mixer together with your wife, and even it starts to get dark, you don't have to hope that you will be able to "smooth" the ideal plane.

Therefore, pits and tubercles are present ...

And in order to lay EPSP slabs on such a surface, you need to at least slightly smooth out these irregularities.

After all, the smoother the floor, the denser the insulation will lie, and, accordingly, there will be no unnecessary subsidence and deformations during the further pouring of the screed, over the insulation.

And the task was not to waste a lot of time and money on this!

So I decided to apply "dry alignment".

But not with sand, as many do, and a cement-sand mixture.

• First, I sprinkled the dry mixture over the surface.

• Then he leveled the rule (in my case it was a piece of OSB).

• And after that he laid the sheets of EPS.

Why a cement-sand mixture?

• First, a very small fraction. Therefore, it is easy to smooth it over the surface in a very thin layer.
• At the same time, the costs are minimal. For all 64 sq. it took me 4-5 bags, 99 rubles each.
• And most importantly, what works.

So for a long time I did not "weigh" the pros and cons, but bought and made.

❗ I'm not sure about large drops, but this method works with small ones. After all, here I did not need to draw the "horizon", but only to align the plane.

But even a perfect surface will not help if the sheets themselves are "crooked".
