What does daytime sleepiness say?

Not getting enough sleep is not a factor in daytime sleepiness. There are two reasons for this:

  1. Multiple awakenings during the night.
  2. Due to the presence of certain diseases.

I often wake up during the night: drink water, go to the toilet, from nervous strain during the day. As a result, in the morning I feel like a squeezed lemon, and the whole day I feel asleep.

And one friend of mine has bouts of drowsiness when the seasons change, especially in the autumn-winter period, when there is little light. It is interesting that such states disappear with the onset of summer.

A neighbor in the country has daytime sleepiness due to neurosis and mental disorder.

In the literature, I found a description of cases of daytime sleepiness due to a brain disease, when it has a lack of energy, and periods of wakefulness are replaced by a state of half-sleep.

There is also such a disease as sleeping beauty syndrome in women and Kleine-Levin syndrome in men. People can fall asleep for several days or weeks, then wake up, eat, tidy up and fall asleep again. Doctors are lost in conjecture, trying to figure out the cause of this condition.

Sometimes I have nightmares. I wake up in a cold sweat and for a long time then I cannot sleep. I noticed that this happens when the weather changes abruptly or something dramatically changes in life. The body is trying, in fact, to adapt to stress conditions.

For other people, stress can be a change of place of residence, a change in career, a sudden change in physical activity on the body, an abrupt and violent change in the weather. The body mobilizes all forces to adapt to these changes.

At night, the body usually digests information received during the day. Due to stress, a person does not fully rest, and therefore dreams are restless.

Increased drowsiness is an alarming and insidious sign, indicating health problems in the first place. It introduces dissonance in all areas - for example, my working capacity decreases, I began to think worse, remember, concentrate. Aggressiveness, irritability and irascibility appeared. I had to see a doctor so as not to miss the moment when it was worth starting to worry.

The doctor advised me to limit the consumption of coffee, which I love very much, potent sedatives, walk in the fresh air, and avoid stressful situations.
