How I saved my pear from rust

Rust is considered the most common disease in pear trees. If you find the first signs, then this is absolutely no reason to despair. It is enough to use some tips, which we will dwell on later in the article.

This disease on the fruit tree is a fungus that primarily affects the foliage. This disease can spread to apple, quince and other similar fruit trees. There is no doubt that this fungus can be removed from the tree if you begin to act immediately.

The appearance of the disease

Roughly the first signs of infection begin in the first half of April. It all starts with the appearance of very small and barely noticeable yellow-orange spots on the leaves. Most often, these spots appear immediately after the flowering of the fruit tree.

The disease progresses rather quickly, therefore, in the first days of July, rust will increase significantly. First, it will already be on most of the leaves. Secondly, due to its scale, rust will become more visible even to the naked eye.

The defeat of the pear does not end there. The fungus spreads to the petioles. If so to speak, start the development of the disease, then it will go on to the shoots, and then to the fruits themselves.

Fighting rust on a pear

Best of all, folk remedies will help in this matter. So, already in early spring (around the end of March), process the fruit tree with a raster that you can prepare yourself. This will require 100 grams of 1% Bordeaux liquid per 10 liters of water.

Then the second is sprayed with the same solution, spend during the flowering period. Carry out the final spraying immediately after pear flowering or 10 days after it, if the weather did not allow.
