Partitions on the 2nd floor made of plasterboard
Today I want to talk about how our interior partitions are arranged on the 2nd floor of the house. This floor is attic, but it is very high, the height of the side walls is 160 cm, that is, the space has not been eaten at all, the slopes are spacious.
After the insulation of the ceiling and the wall was completed, it was time for the installation of partitions and, then, the final pouring of the floor.
On the 1st floor, all partitions between the rooms are made of brick, there are many reasons for this. But on the 2nd floor there was no question of this, it was necessary to do something light. At the same time, the partitions should be with excellent sound insulation, because the bedrooms are located in the attic. And we settled on the option of frame partitions sheathed with plasterboard.
First, we bought all the building materials. It was decided to lay basalt slabs for interior work inside the frame made of a metal profile. This material is positioned as environmentally friendly. The insulation was taken of a very high density so that it would not slide down over time under the influence of gravity. Needless to say, such plates are quite expensive, but you cannot save on this moment.
Having laid out the entire space, they began to fasten the vertical profiles, while in all doorways they were weighted with the help of wooden bars. They did the same at the joints.
After the frame was installed, the floor was poured. While the floor was drying for 2 weeks, everything was prepared for the electrification of the floor - cables, wires, cable channels. Then the installation of electrical wiring began.
After the electricity was walled up, one side of the walls was sheathed with plasterboard and insulation was installed. And only then the second side was sheathed.
Then the finishing work began - plastering the walls, priming drywall. And only six months later we managed to start finishing.
Now we have already started living in the house for the second year and are very pleased with how the partitions behave - there is no noise, the walls are even. On the photo is the second floor after finishing.
Thus, such a system of interior partitions fully justifies itself.
