I fed the Hosts on the advice of a neighbor last year and got a lush plant. This year I will do the same

Hosta is not the rarest plant that can be found on the site. It is considered quite unpretentious. But personally, I did not immediately get along with this plant. The leaves were not lush, and their color was somehow unattractive.

A neighbor who has been growing host for a long time advised me a recipe for one top dressing. Last year I took her advice and the result exceeded all my expectations. Of course, this year I will definitely do the same.

Recipe for making an excellent hosta feed

Components

· Prepare the husk from the seeds. It doesn't matter which seeds, roasted or raw, you use. The main thing is that they are not salted.

· The second component is pine or walnut shells.

· Needles that have fallen off.

· Over-matured compost.

Cooking scheme

If you took a bucket of compost, then take 2 handfuls of husks and shells, and the needles should be about a quarter of the bucket. Next, mix these ingredients and you can feed the hosts. Depending on the size of the bush, add one or another amount of top dressing.

On average, this amount of feeding is enough for 7-8 hosts. If the bushes are larger, then the volume is enough for 5 bushes. If the bushes are smaller, then feed more of them accordingly.

It is better to embed this top dressing a little into the soil with the help of a shallow digging. The advantage of this top dressing is that organic matter will decompose gradually.

And it will be enough to apply fertilizer just once, so that throughout the season the host will delight you with its splendor and generally attractive appearance.

What this unique top dressing gives

· The processes for the production of substances responsible for the coloring of the leaves begin to work better.

· The root system becomes more powerful.

· Plant immunity is increased, as well as resistance to many pests.

· The plant does not react so sharply to changing weather conditions, the adaptation process is also easier.

I especially liked the fact that the dressing is prepared on the basis of simple components, without any chemistry, and the result is good. A neighbor told me that many landscape designers she knows are happy to use folk recipes and do not see anything shameful in this.

After all, it is not only that store-bought fertilizers can be harmful to both the plant and the person. But do not forget about their high price. I see no reason to overpay.
