The guides on the boxes "fell apart" again. Made an "unusual" repair for lazy people
My wife's indignation was growing, the children were also noticeably nervous, and only I remained calm. Do you think years of training, nirvana, spiritual practices? No! It was just that my things were not in this dresser.
Problem
The second time the guides on the middle boxes "fell down", it is necessary to do something.
I must say right away that this chest of drawers, I didn't like right away, is too flimsy. It's good that I convinced the furniture maker to make jumpers in the middle of the drawers. Why should he? Not for you, I say, then nail the bottom into place, I have experience, I have already hoped.
Picked up a tape measure and measured the edges as expected the walls caved in, the difference is half a centimeter, a skew arose in the guides, the parallelism was violated.
What to do?
It would be more correct to align the walls, at least to install a hidden lintel in the middle, but laziness, I decided to go the other way.
I had scraps of linoleum from a previous renovation, so I used them. I disassembled the wall on one of the boxes and installed the gaskets, twisted them into place, and started working.
On the second, things were worse, I had to install new guides, and use inserts to correct the geometry. It was not for nothing that the teacher put “4” in the subject.
Output
The chest of drawers should be either metal or oak. But these are dreams. But the walls twice as thick would cope with the load. And you had such a problem, how did you decide?
