The eternal dispute between builders: Is the facade to be insulated from the outside or not? - Several arguments against. And calculating savings
Good day everyone! Subscriber Victor wrote to me the other day. He sent in a question about the insulation of facades and talked about his dispute with a friend! I decided to publish his opinion and his arguments in the form in which he wrote! It is interesting to hear your opinion about facade insulation!
Victor's story in the rubric #reader_experiences And at the end of the article - a calculation - how much money the insulation will save us! And will it save ...
I argued with a friend - is it necessary to insulate the facade of the house outside? I say - it is necessary and I give him all the arguments “for”, he says - it is not necessary and also gives reasons, but “against”. They argued and disagreed, each with his own opinion.
And then I single-handedly replayed our argument in my head and agreed with my friend. The disadvantages are still outweighed. I cited them in this article in the form of our dispute.
The world does not stand still
- That we live all the time yesterday? Vaughn Elon Musk launched a car into space, scientists cloned sheep, and they begin to build cities on the moon. And we do not know how to insulate a house.
- So everything is new - well forgotten old. And a thousand years ago people coated their houses with clay. The question is, does it make sense?
You have to live like a human ...
- It's cold in the apartment in winter. The temperature in frost is 18 degrees - you have to wear a sweater and woolen socks. Children start to get sick, they don't go to school, they lag behind in academic performance.
- Are the windows in your house sealed? No. Have you changed the batteries for a long time? Never. So maybe they are clogged up, so there is no heat transfer? Do you take children to sports clubs? Also no. So what are you complaining about?
You need to save on heat
“Heating bills are ruinous. If the house is insulated, the amount of consumed gigacalories will immediately decrease. On the general house metering device, the decrease will be recorded, which means that this will also be reflected in the receipts.
- Is the basement in your house closed, and the door is hermetically sealed? Are the windows in the entrance windows inserted everywhere? Are the doors in the entrances insulated? Anyway, do they close in winter? Not everywhere and not always.
You need to do it once and for all
- It is better to do it once, but in such a way as to radically solve the problem. Modern materials are durable, have low specific gravity and low thermal conductivity. They perfectly retain heat and do not create a large load on the building structure.
- This is partly true, but they have their drawbacks. First of all, there is a fire hazard. There are non-combustible insulation materials - for example, mineral wool from basalt rocks, glass wool. But they are afraid of moisture, swell, make the structure of the house heavier. There are lightweight insulation - polystyrene, expanded polystyrene. But these materials do not just burn, they emit toxic substances (carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide) during combustion.
Let's still count if there is #saving
Now let's do a little calculation. Heating an average three-room apartment takes 1.5 Gcal coolant per month. The average price of 1 Gcal is 2000 rubles. It is known from experience that the insulation of the outer walls increases the temperature in the apartment on average. by 2 degrees, that is approximately on 10%. Thus, you get a virtual savings of 300 rubles / month. or 1500 rubles. for the winter season.
The average cost of insulation of 1 square meter of a "turnkey" wall on the market is 1,500 rubles. If you calculate the wall area of your three-room apartment, you get about 20 sq. M. The cost of insulation will be 30 thous. rub. To recoup them with a virtual savings of 1,500 rubles. it will take 20 years.
And with the quality of modern materials, the service life of which directly depends on the financial interest of their manufacturers, you will hardly be able to recoup the costs.
So think for yourself who was right in our dispute ...
