TOP-5 of my finds for a spring greenhouse
Late in the fall, we moved the entire small greenhouse to a new location. Straight with wire and cucumber ropes. Don't be surprised at the grass and irregularities in the photo. We will fill in the soil, so there was no point in digging.
In the spring we washed the greenhouse with Agroyod, and yesterday she accepted the pioneers - flower seedlings. At night it was - 2 ° С, but in the greenhouse it was possible to ensure + 16 ° С.
All yesterday's settlers are safe and sound, even the tiny snapdragons and astrochkas.
First find - wire arches
We have tubular arcs, there are many of them, and there are only 6 wire pieces, these are:
They are bought up first because of three advantages:
- They easily bend and stick into any soil without male help
- You can fix the covering material on them with clothespins. I also fastened it to the tubular arches with clothespins, I did not like it. Free flight of both cover and clothespins was almost guaranteed. There is a good solution - paper clips, but it's expensive.
- These wire arcs take up a minimum of space in the cellar.
The second find is a thin cover
Previously, I wrapped all the seedlings in a couple of layers of thick agrospan in arcs. And she ran: close - open. This year, finally, I radically insulated the greenhouse (more on that below), and specially bought the thinnest shelter in Leroy Merlin. 100 p. 10 m away, clear of the sun.
It turned out like this:
You can open the "curtain" for hardening in free mode, there will be enough light for the plants. The heat will also easily pass through such a thin fabric.
The seedlings spent the first night in the greenhouse without covering material. I repeat, it was -2 ° C outside
This is for flowers and other cold-tolerant crops. Tomatoes, peppers and eggplants when frozen will still wrap up radically for the night. Here's how here showed.
The third find is two IR heaters
In theory, each of them could heat this greenhouse. Practically, they heat in the middle, under them. Therefore, the plants were placed in the center, under the heaters. It is important. Heaters hang from the ceiling, like this:
The metal profile on the walls was cold, despite the fact that two infrared heaters were working and another find of mine. The temperature was + 16 ° С at 06:30. in the middle of the greenhouse, at a height of 1 m 60 cm.

The fourth find is a small heat gun
The largest overall size of my baby is 24 cm. The advertisements praised her for being ceramic. About 1500 r. pleasure.
I turned on the heating to a minimum (2 modes in total). I put it at the door: warm air is directed into the greenhouse, a fan with cold air on the door. One and a half meters cord is quite enough.
In fact, the idea is not new. Several summer residents wrote to me that in addition to an IR heater, or instead of it, they use a heat gun in greenhouses. Precisely because we were convinced that the infrared heater does not cope, heat-loving plants freeze.
We had one gun from the construction site left, but it's a monster in size. And it will take up a lot of space, and such a small volume of air will easily overheat. Greenhouse 1.7 x 6 m, low.
At 10 am in the greenhouse it was + 28 ° already without heaters, I turned them off early in the morning. She opened the window from overheating. At 17 h in the greenhouse it was + 31 ° С. Outdoors during the day + 9 ° С
Fifth find - boxes and boxes
Brought - set. If necessary, quickly rearranged. Plus, boxes and boxes provide a little protection from the cold soil of the greenhouse. I bought 5 more boxes, quite roomy, 49 rubles each. Conveniences are also worth something. Like these ones:
