When I was going to improve the site near the house, I decided to consult with a friend. She was surprised that I was planning to plant two juniper bushes next to the porch.
She said that this is a bad omen associated with death. Shrugging it off, I did it my own way, and I was right, given the current situation with the virus.
The healing properties of juniper
Both bushes have taken up well for me. Now they have grown up to 2 meters in height. I have never regretted that I planted them next to the house. I don’t believe in predictions, but I felt the medicinal properties of juniper on myself.
The plant has a whole bunch of indications:

· Cleanses the blood;
· Destroys harmful bacteria;
· Has an expectorant effect.
The latter property is especially relevant, given that the coronavirus infects the respiratory organs and one of the symptoms is shortness of breath.
I use berries and needles. I collect them at the same time: by the end of September or early October. I dry it in the attic, because when it dries quickly in the oven, the essential oil evaporates.

The value of berries is that, in addition to a number of trace elements, essential oil and iron, they contain resinous compounds. It is a valuable substance for thinning and removing phlegm when coughing. In addition, the berry infusion has a diuretic property, relieves inflammation, and helps to destroy pathogenic microbes.
Recipe : I pour 200 grams of berries with a liter of boiling water, keep in a water bath for no more than 20-25 minutes. I put it in a cool dark place, insist for a day, and then I drink 100 grams. every 3 hours. Relief comes on the second day.
The needles contain a lot of phytoncides or substances that destroy microbes that provoke the onset and development of tuberculosis and other infectious diseases. I make decoctions.
Recipe : I put a handful of dried needles in a saucepan, pour boiling water (1l), bring to a boil, insist within an hour. I drink for prevention.
It is useful to breathe the smell that the needles give off when burning.
Juniper next to home: vital and beautiful
Juniper is an excellent ornamental plant. It is able to decorate any landscape, especially in winter: greenery against the background of snowdrifts.
The plant cleans the air near the house, because it is so easy to breathe. This property is especially noticed by people who have asthma.
The smell repels insects - carriers of pathogens.
