The sun spoils building materials. Where is it true and where is it not? Checked at my house.
For some reason, some building materials protect from one, but at the same time they themselves must protect themselves from something. Some kind of vicious circle.
And when building my house, I also came across this.
At the same time, there were undeniable moments.
- Concrete care after the foundation is poured.
- The roofing membrane must not be exposed to the sun for a long time. Otherwise, it loses its properties.
- The polyurethane foam also needs to be protected from UV.
But there is a theory for which I have not found confirmation.
For example, the opinion that aerated concrete will quickly collapse from moisture and frost is erroneous.
Even with the blocks lying on the ground, nothing happened for more than two years, not to mention the masonry ..
Some also criticize EPPS.
On many forums, I met people who talked about how this material began to crumble on the facade of the house, almost a year later ...
I wanted to insert some photo here, as an example, but I could not find it on the Internet... it already says something.
And my personal example speaks only of good things.
Over the past year, nothing happened with the insulation of the foundation, from the word AT ALL. This is how the EPS was and remained.
No peeling, no crumbling, even the color has not changed in any way ...
So who to believe ???
Only yourself π. Your experience is the best example.
β By the way, here is a video where I check the state of the insulation of the foundation. In addition, you will see how the protective sealant for the polyurethane foam survived the winter.
