Many site owners use vibration pumps. They have many names: Kid, Stream, Whirlwind, Aquarius, etc. Available with upper or lower water intake. But the principle of their work is the same.
A simple, inexpensive pump, costing from 1.5 to 3 thousand rubles. rub. But it has one drawback. If the pump is located in the well at the very bottom, then silt, fine sand rises from the vibration and is sucked in and works like an abrasive. Also, from vibration, the casing can destroy the layers of the rock, and this all goes down into the well and also goes into the pump. And then this may happen:
When sand gets in, shells are formed even inside the silumin body. In my case, the sand rubbed through the body. I had this process of pumping a well from the remains of sand. But the same thing can happen if not in a month, but in 1-2 seasons. Also, the rubber piston wears out in the pump.
In order not to change the pumps, I settled on the pump Aquarius-3 with a plastic cover. It has a cost of about RUB 200 and is available in the store.
How can the pump be protected from sand? The simplest thing is to raise the pump above the bottom of the well. And if the water level is low? Someone will say that you need to install a centrifugal pump. But it has 2-3 times more value and is also afraid of sand. Yes, there will be no vibration and the pump will not lift up sludge. If you are not ready to change the pump, there is an easier solution. This is a filter for a vibration pump.
Filter Suite for vibration pumps. Its other name: EFVP – St – 38–125
Consists of propylene fibers, like many coarse filters in flasks. Length - 125 mm. Inner diameter: 38 mm. Outside - 54 mm. Installed on the narrow part of the pump at the point of water intake. Such filters are capable of filtering particles larger than 40-100 microns, the porosity of the filter is at least 60%. The pump performance may drop slightly. If the water in the well is still cloudy, then the filter will have to be changed or flushed often, regularly pulling the pump to the surface. But this is better than changing the pump itself or disassembling it and changing the cover. Cost: from 100 rubles.
For reliability, I would pull it off with a clamp or plastic ties. These filters are also sold as a cover for the entire pump housing:

Kalan filter for 3, 3.5 and 4 "pumps. But I would not install a filter on the body of such pumps. As a rule, they are lowered into the well no longer on a hose, but with a HDPE pipe. It will be difficult to constantly reach the pump to change the filter in the confined space of the caisson or basement. The pipe does not bend like a hose.
