When you run around the shops and see the cosmic (and sometimes shocking) prices for coffee tables, you involuntarily wonder: do I really need it? Of course, without it, the living room looks empty, ordinary. But I don't even want to spend huge sums of money on a small piece of furniture. There remains one thing - to do it yourself!

At the same time, you shouldn't really “get warm” and worry about the result. For a coffee table is not a necessity. Most likely, it is needed to complete the look of your living room, to give it style and exclusivity. This means that you have the right to make a mistake, not a global one, of course, but still. That is, whatever you do, you can always refer to the fact that this was originally intended. A kind of unique, exclusive table, existing in a single copy!

And so that you do not waste a lot of time in vain searching ideas for making an original coffee table that can decorate a dull living room in the blink of an eye, so much so that the neighbors will envy, and I prepared this material.

1."Classic" wooden. Let's start with a fairly simple but working option - a wooden table! It will easily serve you for more than five years, becoming an irreplaceable part of the living room interior. It's easy to make. First, you need to make a strong rectangular base, which will then need to be covered with several wide boards - a table top.

At the same time, in order for such a table to become a full-fledged decorative element, it is necessary to emphasize the structure of the tree from which it is made with transparent varnish. Actually, that's all!

2.Original plasterboard. If you have ever worked with drywall, then you know that you can easily build a structure of any complexity from it. And the coffee table is no exception. Of course, not the entire table, but only its countertop, which later will be covered with a layer of decorative plaster. Uneven, deliberately rough and tactilely pleasing!

But the base at the table can be made by any: wooden, metal or concrete. The main thing is that in the end it looks complete and concise and in no case gets out of the interior of your living room.

3.Plexiglass "invisible". For a small living room, decorated in a minimalist style, you can make a table from colored plexiglass or plexiglass. That being said, it is best to use a simple cube shape. Then you do not have to reinvent the wheel, but you only need to cut out five identical parts, which later need to be carefully fastened with special glue.

Such a table will be almost invisible in the interior of the living room: therefore, it will not weigh down an already small room and will allow you to maintain the illusion of more space than it really is.

4.Retro mosaic. Do you still have ceramic mosaic tiles after the renovation? Sumptuously! You can try making a trendy coffee table and decorating it with these tiles. Moreover, making it is not so difficult. First, you need to make a sketch based on the size of the existing mosaic, and then use it to assemble a simple table on one massive leg made of plywood or OSB.

After that, you just have to glue the mosaic tile on all vertical and horizontal surfaces, and in the end rub the seams with a bright grout, so that the new handmade object turns out to be solid and finished. EVERYTHING!

5.Trendy concrete. Well, this is a bonus table, which can be made in just 5 minutes, or even less! For its manufacture you only need a couple of concrete blocks and rectangular tempered glass.

And to collect it, I am sure, will not be difficult for you. Just place the "legs", which, by the way, can be made of cinder-concrete mortar or travertine, and then put the glass on top. That's it, the modern table is ready!
