What the shape of a cucumber tells: how to find out what fertilizers the plant lacks
The non-standard shape of the cucumber is often a signal by which the plant shows that it lacks certain trace elements. How to determine by the shape of the fruit what fertilizers a cucumber bush needs - read on.
Insufficient watering
Cucumber is a capricious vegetable, loves warm and moist soil. If the plant does not receive enough moisture, then it signals this with a curved shape. With a lack of water, the fruit becomes like a hook. Crooked cucumbers on the bush show that they are thirsty.
Solution to the problem: provide abundant watering.
Too cold water for irrigation
If the cucumber looks like an infinity sign - thick edges and a thin middle, then the water is too cold for irrigation. Cucumbers should be watered with exceptionally warm water. To do this, you need to install the barrel in a greenhouse or in a sunny place and heat water in it for irrigation.
Solution to the problem: provide warm watering.
Lack of nitrogen
During nitrogen starvation, the plant gives a signal with a light green fruit with a narrowed, curved and yellowed tip. Nitrogen is a stimulant of vegetation and when it is lacking, fruit growth slows down, the leaves become smaller, and the loops are thinner.
Solution to the problem: feed the plant with nitrogen-containing fertilizers. For example, urea, cow dung, bird droppings, compost. Apply fertilizers strictly according to the instructions!
Lack of potassium
Cucumbers have become similar to pears - this means that the plant receives less potassium. And also with a lack of this element, a dry border appears at the edges of the leaves, and brown spots form between the veins.
Solution to the problem: feeding plants with wood ash. The highest potassium content (up to 40%) is found in ash from grapevines or potato tops.
Lack of phosphorus
With a lack of phosphorus, the ovaries generally fall off, the leaves become a rich dark green color with a brown border. Phosphorus is the most important element responsible for plant rooting, as well as for the formation and ripening of fruits. If the plant is deficient in phosphorus, then it simply discards the fruit.
Solution to the problem: feeding the plant with superphosphate. Dilute two hundred grams of the drug in one liter of boiling water and leave for ten hours. Dilute the resulting concentrate in 10 liters of warm water. Water each bush with 500 grams of the resulting solution.
