Spent the Internet to the dacha. Underground laying of fiber optic cable
My site is located in an area where not only the mobile Internet, but the telephone connection itself has poor reception. This is especially evident for some reason in cloudy and rainy weather. In recent years, operators have slightly increased the signal level, but without antennas and amplifiers, the phone always has an "E" (GPRS) icon. Very rarely and in some places by 1-2 divisions "4G" appears.
Neighbors in the village put antennas higher, signal amplifiers and try (change) different operators. But civilization has come to our village. One of the Internet providers laid a fiber-optic cable along the road, laid it along the power transmission poles and here (a branch from the highway). In one of the other villages, a hub was set up further along the road. Internet connection for a reasonable price - RUB 3000 (1000 rub. falls on the account) and the subscription fee RUB 1000 Internet with TV is slightly more expensive. How was it not to take advantage of this opportunity. Only I wanted to lay the cable underground. The electric cable goes underground, I didn't want anything hanging in the air or along the fence.
First of all, I asked the master who connects the Internet in our area - is it possible to lay the cable in the HDPE pipe. Received a positive answer (provided that all these works will be my strength). I dug a shallow trench from the power transmission pole (along which the cable with fiber was stretched) to the fence and punched a hole under the foundation.
I bought 50 m HDPE pipes with a diameter 25 mm. Price: 36 rubles / m. 20 m will remain in reserve for laying the cable to the house. In the meantime, the connection will be to the nearest point where there is electricity. This is my greenhouse workshop with an inventory warehouse.
There is no time to completely dig the trench (I will do it later). And before pulling the cable inside the HDPE, you cannot bury the pipe (I will explain below). The HDPE pipe lasted exactly 30 m.
On the appointed day, the master arrived. To my surprise, this was the first time he encountered underground cable laying. I connected everyone by air. I started to push the cable into the pipe. The cable is rigid, does not bend. Inside it is a rigid metal cable to prevent breaking the fiber. It pushes well inside the pipe, but due to the turns, friction prevented it from being pushed further 15 m.
I cut the HDPE pipe in the place where the cable ended and pulled it from this side for another 15 m. I put on a connecting clamp for water for HDPE, pushed the cable into the second section and connected the pipes with a clamp.
Then I pulled out the cable of the required length (the distance to the house and by floors to the point where the router will be located). I rolled the cable back into a roll and brought it into the greenhouse-workshop to the connection point. Later, when I lay the electrical cable, I will extend the fiber optic next to it.
The master soldered the plug into the cable, connected it to the equipment issued for free use by the provider. I set up a router (my router), connected everything via a twisted pair cable coming with the router. At the same time, I was filling out a contract. Temporarily everything looks like this for me:
I put the equipment in a bag - closed it so that dust does not accumulate. Since it is too hot in the greenhouse-workshop in clear weather with the door closed (the equipment will overheat), I cut through the ventilation at the top with the ability to close it with a piece of polycarbonate:
An important point when laying a cable underground in a HDPE pipe. It is advisable to cover the pipe after powdering with bricks or flat pieces of concrete. Protection against a drill or a shovel. Through 5-10 years you will forget where the cable goes, and if you start digging something, it is possible that the pipe and cable will be damaged. And so the brick or concrete will protect.
When digging a trench, the turf was cut into segments. When digging back in, he carefully laid it and the lawn in front of the fence is almost intact:
According to my tests, the speed of the Internet is up to 70 Mb / s and ping 4-5 ms. For fiber, this is a low figure, but that's not the point. It's about the router. It does not deliver more than 70-80 Mb / s. But for now, that's enough for me. The neighbors have a speed of more than 100 Mb / s (they wrote in the general chat).
Now there is such a piece of civilization in our village, where even cellular communication is lame. For those who are from Krasnoyarsk and are being built in the direction of p. Nikolskoe (from p. Emelyanovo) - contact the provider "Game-service" (not advertising). This is their fiber-optic backbone.
