“I have been using paint according to my recipe for almost two years and am not overjoyed. All the buildings processed by her are standing - they are not afraid of snow or rain. The coating holds well: it withstood the scorching summer sun without any problems, passed the test of prolonged rains and frosts.

Not without its own nuances. The paint of our own production is capricious to abrasion and smooth surface. For example, it is difficult for it to catch on to OSB - adhesion is weak, since there are no complex chemical components in the composition.

But for a fleecy board, this paint is just that! She is very covering! It is better to apply the composition on a hot one - the paint is perfectly absorbed and spread evenly. My experiment was a success and I am happy to share my recipe. "

What is needed to prepare the coloring composition?

Inventory and consumables:

• enameled tank for 25 liters;
• metal bucket for 10 liters;
• drill and mixer nozzle;
• heating source (fire, gas or electric stove);
• iron vitriol - 800 grams;
• wheat flour - 1.8 kg;
• non-woven wallpaper glue - 0.4 kg;
• linseed oil - 0.5 liters;
• pigment FEPREN TP-303 (but you can choose a pigment of any color) - 3 kg;
• edible salt 40 grams;
• water - 20 liters.

About the color of the paint. You can choose any color of iron oxide pigment. Pigment is not a problem to buy - it is used in the production of colored paving slabs. It can be ordered online or purchased in construction chemicals stores.

Paint boiling process

Pour 14 liters of water into the tank and heat to a boil. While the water is heating, pour 6 liters of water into a bucket, dilute 1.8 kg of flour and 400 grams of wallpaper glue in it. We mix the components thoroughly using a mixer.

When the water boils, add 800 grams of ferrous sulfate to it and stir thoroughly. When the vitriol is completely dissolved, add jelly from flour and wallpaper glue to the tank and also mix thoroughly.

While adding liquid from the bucket, the composition in the tank will cool slightly. Cook for 30 minutes, but do not bring the contents of the tank to a boil. After half an hour, add 500 grams of flaxseed oil and 40 grams of salt. Stir until completely dissolved and cook for another 20-30 minutes. We maintain the temperature at about 80-85 degrees so that the mixture does not boil, otherwise it will start to burn.

Then we begin to apply the coloring pigment in small doses. At the same time, the mixer must work constantly so that lumps do not form. After adding the pigment, cook for another 30 minutes and the paint is ready!

The composition can be applied both hot and cold. When applied hot, the paint will absorb better, and when applied cold, it will be slightly thicker, but at the same time the number of smudges is reduced.

Cost of the composition

Costs for 20 liters of paint:

• pigment FEPREN TP-303 3 kg - 300 ₽;
• flour 2 kg - 50 ₽;
• linseed oil 500 ml - 200 ₽;
• iron vitriol 800 gr. — 90 ₽;
• wallpaper glue - 160 ₽

Water and salt can be conventionally considered free. As a result, the total cost of preparing 20 liters of paint was 800 rubles. Thus, a liter of samovar wood paint will cost 40 rubles.
