Do you want to see your roses blooming and healthy? Then a fiery salute, comrade florist! Today I will tell you about a very important top dressing for roses.

Which, to my great chagrin, is known to a narrow circle of informed persons. I am for the fact that all citizens on the site have a personal exemplary rose garden!

And I didn’t come up with the recipe out of my own head, didn’t hear it from my neighbor, and didn’t even take it from such an authoritative source as the Odnoklassniki community. I found information about this dressing on the most useful site for roses in the Russian segment - "Rosebook", where professional rose growers flock into flocks. And I have been using it successfully on my site for many years. I bring the news to you!

Little known but important elements for roses

Comrade! We hear from every iron that in the spring the roses need to be fed with nitrogen, and in the summer with phosphorus and potassium. But we often forget about trace elements, which are also important for the life of any plant.

Take magnesium (Mn) and sulfur (S), for example. Both elements are an irreplaceable participant in biochemical processes in the life of a plant, due to the lack of which the entire nutrition system collapses.

By the way, acute magnesium deficiency is often diagnosed in the soils of Central Russia.

Have magnesium and its own specialization. First of all, we are interested in the ability to stimulate the growth of the basal shoots of the rose, causing it to become more lush. Sulfur strengthens the plant as a whole, making it less susceptible to various kinds of diseases, often sending garden life. First of all, we are talking about bulk powdery mildew and more rare (hurray!) Gray rot.

So I I strongly advise you to feed with magnesium sulfate (also known as Woof"magnesia"). Actually, it contains both magnesium (16.9%) and sulfur (13.5%), but in fertilizers from different manufacturers, the content of substances may slightly differ. Besides the general strengthening of the rose, the fertilizer has a pleasant side effect - stimulating the growth of new buds. After all, the introduction of magnesium and sulfur "accelerates" the entire metabolism of the plant.

How to properly apply magnesium sulfate for roses

I will write 2 ways to use magnesium sulfate in my country rose garden. And you, comrade, choose which one you like best.

The best time to spray is morning or evening.
The best time to spray is morning or evening.
  • The fast-acting option is spray the solution over the sheetwhen there is no wind, rain and scorching sun. The plant will instantly absorb magnesium and sulfur, starting to use them for their intended purpose. Dosage per liter - 1-2 g.
  • Citizens who do not like to mess with spraying can fertilize at the root. In this case, it is necessary to make the solution stronger - 3-5 g per 1 liter of water. Spill the entire trunk circle (and not like a dog on a pole!) At the rate of 3 liters for an adult medium-sized rose bush.

Top dressing really works, improving appearance, health and is especially important for those who are counting on a second wave of rose blooming in their garden.
Love roses and was this article helpful? Click, comrade, "Thumbs up"!
Sincerely yours, Grigory Tyapkin-Sklyankin.
