The Americans have created a jet-powered drone for $ 100,000, which will be able to fly at speeds up to 400 km / h

Representatives of the American company FusionFlight have already demonstrated the second version of their jet quadcopter. This drone flies due to the work of four microturbines and is capable of speeds up to 400 kilometers per hour. This development will be discussed in the material.

Jet drone and its characteristics

The first version of the jet drone was shown by the company back in 2019, but then the "quadrocopter" lacked engine protection, and it was also impossible to change the thrust vector.

In the second version, these shortcomings were eliminated, and now the aircraft can both maneuver in all directions and hover motionless over a certain point.

The prototype, called JetQuad AB6, has the following dimensions: 1205 x 931 x 402 millimeters. At the same time, the weight of the device (without fuel) is only 24 kilograms, and with a full tank (the drone runs on kerosene or any other fuel), the entire weight is already 44 kilograms.

The drone is capable of covering a distance of 150 km, and at the same time its current maximum speed is 400 km / h, but, as the engineers said, if you work on the body and give it a more aerodynamic shape, then the maximum speed of the vehicle can reach 600 km / h.

In this case, the drone can take a payload of up to 15 kilograms.

Prospects for a jet drone

FusionFlight wants to start selling their drones (at least start taking orders) soon. Here are just the price of the product will amount to a considerable 100,000 US dollars.
