Why not sow tomato seedlings too early
Welcome growers! Are you already thinking about the 2020 planting season? Perhaps someone has already made a list of the desired seed or bought them.
It would be desirable to take back for your favorite trouble with seedlings and every day to watch the magic - growth of young plants, I personally think that the noble ardor of tomato diligence should be moderate 😊. Although the Internet can read tips to take up sowing in February or even January, in order to grow the earliest harvest among neighbors and friends, I consider such advice harmful and explain why.
Nature can not be fooled
Tomatoes planted earlier in the year, unfortunately, not be able to overtake in the harvest in March comrades. Short daylight hours inhibits the development of young plants, so January and February are unlikely to get burly. As a result, Tomatoes grown from seedlings of early sowing, and even less are often more fruitful and less than those from the time of seedlings grown under favorable conditions.
But the risk of a huge overgrown seedlings. Stems have vymahal to giant size, extended and inclined, and will be planted early. The roots fill the entire pot, pulled out from the land of nutrients. This fasting is also further weaken no time a tall plant, and as a result the seedlings will be... hilenky.
Supplementary lighting the lamp at such an early sowing - a double edged sword: the lighting will not be enough - just shoots elongated, lamps are powerful - again, get overgrown.
Vegetable growers-bustler often forced even pereukorenyat tops of young tomatoes. As you can imagine, the work completely useless and does not add seedlings yield.
I believe that everything has its time. I do not advise to take up the seeds until March. What do you think?
