Solution for space heating with panoramic windows: underfloor water convectors
Affiliate material. It is difficult to imagine a modern house without panoramic glazing zones. And very often this is not just an area in the living room, but also the entire glazing of the house. There are a lot of advantages in this choice: a large source of natural light, expansion of space, unity with the landscape, beautiful interior and exterior of the house ...
But the question immediately arises with heating, because it is necessary to compensate for heat loss, and putting a conventional convector is not always correct and aesthetically pleasing. Therefore, special built-in heating devices for hidden installation have been developed - floor water convectors, which have a compact size and aesthetic appearance.
They are connected to a single hot water heating system, and in addition to the heating function, they perfectly complement any interior.
When building a house, it is necessary to decide in advance how the premises will be heated, and provide niches in the floor for floor convectors.
Basically floor convectors in Moscow apply:
- in rooms with a large panoramic glazing area,
- in small rooms where there is not enough free space, or where the classic convector is not suitable for the design project,
- in rooms with high humidity, since here, thanks to the floor convectors, a kind of curtain is formed, which prevents the windows from fogging up.
The design of the water floor convector provides the location of the pipe with fins that increase heat transfer. They can also be equipped with additional fans that speed up heating. A thermostat is installed to regulate the heating.
When choosing a casing for a floor convector, it is important to understand where it will be installed. For damp rooms, a stainless steel case is preferable, since they are more moisture resistant. In dry rooms, housings made of galvanized or black steel, coated with anti-corrosion paint, are installed.
Another important element of the floor convector is the grille. First of all, it is decorative in nature and its choice depends on the planned design of the room.
They are mainly made from:
- steel (galvanized, stainless or conventional),
- anodized aluminum,
- natural marble,
- wood (beech, ash, oak, etc.)
By their type, gratings can be rolled (more expensive, but also more convenient, since they can be rolled) and linear (must be lifted completely).
When choosing the material for the grate, you need to understand whether you will step on it. In this case, you need to choose more wear-resistant materials, without containing any plastic parts.
An important detail is the material from which the heat exchanger is made: in more expensive convectors they use copper or copper-aluminum, in the middle price segment - from stainless steel, and in the budget - aluminum.
Modern floor convectors can be used not only for heating a room, but also for cooling it. In this case, two separate heat exchange elements are used, one of which is connected to the heating system and the other to the cooling system.
Also, some manufacturers offer an air purification function. In this case, the air enters the special holes, then it is cleaned through the built-in filters, then it is heated, and after that the warm and purified air enters the room.
