Now there is a new material - ondulin.

Similar to wave slate, but made using a different technology. Ondulin contains cellulose treated with bitumen, resin, and other fillers that give strength to the material. They also add dyes (green, brown or red), which create a more attractive appearance of the roof.

The low weight of the sheets allows for laying over old roofing material. Ordinary slate is much heavier than ondulin (10 times). The total service life of such slate is up to 50 years.

Another plus ondulina - the material does not emit any harmful substances. What not to say about the usual gray slate. The price of gray slate and ondulin is almost the same.

Flexible roof

It is a seamless roof covering. Flexible shingles are made of fiberglass impregnated with bitumen. Dye is added during production. Strength, good heat and sound insulation, sealing are not all the advantages of the material.

Externally, the material resembles shingles, slate material or ceramic tiles.

The service life of such a roof is up to 60 years. High moisture resistance, environmental friendliness, cost-effectiveness, ease of installation. A fairly new type of material is three-layer shingles. This does not add strength, but it does create interesting volume and relief. Soft tiles are somewhat more expensive than slate, but surpass it in beauty, durability, ease of use and less waste. The flexible material absorbs all external sounds (precipitation) and does not rust.
