How to remove a hair blockage in the bathroom in 5 minutes: a simple and proven way

Clogs from hair, wool and fabric fibers are a constant problem in the bathroom. It is very difficult to pierce them with a plunger, and it is generally not possible to dissolve them with store-bought sewage cleaning agents. To eliminate such blockages, a minimum set of equipment is required. This is a rigid stranded wire: the most suitable option is a grounding wire 50-70 cm long. And a knife, pliers or stripper will also come in handy. In general, any tool that can be used to remove insulation from a wire.

How to use a wire to unclog a sewer

This operation is very simple and will take no more than 5 minutes. First of all, it is necessary to remove 10 mm of insulation from one end of the wire. Bare veins should be fluffed and bent as shown in the photo. At the end of the wire, you should get a kind of analogue of the armature.

Next, you need to push the wire into the drain hole by 20–40 cm or until it stops. It depends on the design of the siphon. Turn the wire a little so that it touches the inner walls of the siphon, push it back and forth and, while scrolling, pull it towards you until it is completely removed.

An improvised anchor located at the end of the wire will hook the hair plug and remove it in whole or in part. If the blockage is weak, then 2-3 passes are enough. With a tighter blockage, you will have to make 10-12 passes.

With a large number of passes, the wire can bend and break. In this case, you will need to bite off the worked-out area and then remove the insulation again, fluff up the wire and make a new "anchor".
