Making a sofa with your own hands in a home workshop. Painting and assembly. Small assembly tweaks. Part 8
I painted the sofa according to the details, and then assembled it. This sequence makes it possible to thoroughly paint every detail and exclude any unpainted areas in the finished product.
Painted with a conventional spray gun with an air turbine.
I did several layers until the desired shade was obtained.
Used water-based colored varnish. The first layers were made with minimal paint supply. Be sure to grind between layers. This method allows you to get a positive coloration on conifers.
I told in detail about this method of painting in this article.
Then I started assembling. Here the sequence was chosen based on its capabilities and the number of clamps.
First I collected three elements:
The first connected the rear pillars with a long part - details bz - bnv
The second connected the sidewalls b1 with two rear parts bn, bnn
The third connected the armrests to the front long board.
And then he collected these three parts. (scroll through the gallery)
The assembly was done on dowels, which he glued into both parts to be joined.
Since I do not have such long clamps, I got out of the situation like this.
He clamped the long board with a classic carpentry clamp, and already pulled the second part by this clamp.
After installing all the parts, I added rigidity to the frame by gluing four stops in the corners.

Who is interested can see link.
And even earlier, there was a series of articles on making a durable, reliable stool.
You can see here.
And more recently it was series about chair making.
