How to bend drywall?

There is another option. We pass along the drywall (inner side) with a needle roller. We make holes with it. Moisten with water using a damp sponge, leave for several hours. Then we fold the material. Minus of the way: it will not be possible to bend strongly, the sheet may burst.

Many do this: moisten the drywall sheet not with water, but with PVA. The material becomes like latex, it can be easily bent and there is no need to make holes and cuts.

Why do you need to raise the gypsum board from the floor by 15-20 mm.? Why can't you put it on the floor?

If you plan to lay laminate or parquet flooring, then it can be laid with a gap of 5-7 mm from the wall. The advantage is that the owner of the house / apartment can then choose narrow or wide skirting boards.

If you plan to lay tiles, then the advantage is that the wall gets dirty less and the solution will go into the gap, and not onto the drywall.

Drywall in 2 layers. What for?

It's better than one. The wall becomes especially strong, nothing will bend (resistance to compression and bending). Sound / heat insulation is increased.

Most often, such a solid structure in 2 layers is done in the kitchen. Then you can easily hang cabinets on such walls without using additional fasteners. No mortgages.

You can also save money with this method. Just buy a thinner material for the inner layer (9.5 mm.). And for the outside, use a material with a thickness of 12.5 mm.

Internal corners (secret method)

You will need metal corners (from floor to ceiling). The corner is mounted on a horizontal lathing. The corner will not dangle, it will be even and installation will be much easier. To save money, you can use the Knauf guide profile (100x40).
