How many thousand rubles are lying in my garden
Today, in a store of a well-known chain, I drew attention to the price of apples. Usually I pass this department without looking, as in the summer we have enough berries and fruits. Only in August we start buying apricots, peaches and watermelons, which everyone loves, but they do not grow so large and sweet here as in the south.
And then I look - apples cost from 93 to 146 rubles per kilogram! Moreover, it is impossible to say that they are somehow especially tempting. My apples from my garden look even more attractive, at least - livelier!
The cheapest are seasonal apples, at 93, 45 rubles. They are small and solid. What taste, I don't know. They look quite normal, even there is some damage, traces of pests. This only suggests that apples are not stuffed with chemistry, although, of course, the industrial scale of horticulture cannot do without it.
The most expensive - at 146.99 rubles per kilogram, do not differ significantly from the cheap ones. But here already no damage is visible. This only means that the herbicides used to treat the apple orchard are included in the price of the goods! Eat to your health, for your own money.
And then I thought, how many apples are lying on the ground under the apple trees, which the tree throws off from itself. Or in a strong wind, the fruits fall from the branches. I collect about two buckets of carrion every day. There are 8 kilograms in a bucket. Let the average price be 100 rubles. That is, I give 800 rubles daily to chickens, or throw them into compost. Because I do not have time to process such an amount, and it is not even necessary.
It is impossible to sell them, because, falling from the branches, the apples are damaged on the soil, although we deliberately do not mow the grass under the trees so that the apples do not beat so hard.
This means that I lose about 24,000 rubles worth of apples a month. Yes, I did it, and even I felt a shame that such a lot of money was flying away just like that. Of course, I still process a part - I dry a lot for compote. I'm going to cook some fresh jam, although there are still a lot of old ones left in the cellar.
But this is a drop in the ocean, it is waste. But soon, by September, good, high-quality apples will ripen! They will also need to be attached. If all the owners of the orchards have a good harvest, then selling apples is simply unrealistic. They are sold not at the store price, but at the local one, which the dealers will set - the minimum.
Here's a sad story, like about money, and like about apples.
