Is a world without electricity possible?
We are so used to electricity that we just don't notice it anymore. We are used to the lighting of evening streets, the Internet, television, water supply, etc. Well, have you ever thought that all this works thanks to the use of electricity?
Electricity and its importance for the modern world
I was prompted to write this material by a conversation with one of my acquaintances, who claimed that his work was simply irreplaceable (he is a plumber, but in fact In fact, representatives of other professions expressed skepticism), and you are electricians, in fact, they are not needed at all, that it is worth replacing a light bulb or an outlet, either blockage.
To which I suggested that he imagine such a situation that all of a sudden there was no electricity in the whole big city, what would start then? And you know, he became thoughtful. Well, let's fantasize a little about what will really happen if all of a sudden all over the city (let's take a large metropolis for greater clarity) electricity suddenly disappears.
Living in a metropolis without light
So, as soon as the lights go out, the first thing that will happen is a real traffic collapse, since the traffic lights will not work.
After a few hours, the connection will be lost, since the batteries will run out on various towers and there will be simply nothing to broadcast the signal.
In addition, the supply of drinking water and pumping of waste water will also be stopped.
At nightfall, you will not be able to sit in your favorite (yes, any) social network or watch a series, since nothing will work anymore.
The next day, the situation with a water shortage will begin to worsen. In addition, products in supermarkets will start to deteriorate, and cash desks will not work and you will not be able to buy anything.
In fact, this is already a pre-critical situation. And in the city there is no electricity for only two days.
On the third and fourth days, the metropolis will in fact be in complete chaos, and we just turned off the power supply.
I think even such a simple thought experiment shows how important electricity is in the modern world. Yes, let's say in a village a blackout for a long period will also be an unpleasant fact, but not as critical as in a big city.
Therefore, the next time you want to talk about the exclusivity and special importance of your work, think about those people who make it so that your home has electricity 24/7.
If you want to express your opinion, then you are welcome in the comments. Well, if you liked the material (and all those whose profession is connected with light), like and share the material.
Let as many people as possible learn about the importance of electricity and the importance of those people who have linked their lives with it. Thank you for your attention!
