Results of the STO varietal tomato season
This year I have had over 100 varieties of tomatoes, mostly one bush at a time. One representative of the variety is very little for conclusions, but something could be noticed.
I'll start with success
Yummy
The most delicious turned out to be completely lean tomatoes Home hearts from the Gonsiorovskys (greenhouse) and Juwel (open ground).
No matter how funny it is, I did not find a photo of them. My home hearts from the Gonsiorovskys were neat elongated pink-crimson hearts, 150-200 grams each. And Yuveli, there were only three of them, - classic red beefs, 500 grams each.
I will sow, perhaps they needed acclimatization for yields.
A very interesting taste was Plan 9 from Open Space. But only fully matured.
This bush also distinguished itself the weight of one of the fruits, and the aroma
And, of course, all the cherries turned out to be super-awesome. I got the sweetest Summer sun, Blush and Yellow cherry.
Gigantomania
Before this season, I have never gotten very large tomatoes, so I am pleased with my modest result in this direction. Several varieties have given fruits more than 600 g:
- Vater Rhine - 747g maximum, prolific yummy red beef
- Daetwyler - 727g and 692g, about him and other heavyweights here
- Mammoth German gold - 632 g, about the grade here
- Minus balls - 611 g
- Miracle of the Earth - 610 g
- Moldavian - 602 g
There were a few more excellent large-fruited tomatoes with a non-prominent weight, for example:
Aroma
There is an article on this topic, about the most fragrant tomatoes
Here I will write only three leaders in terms of aroma, the full summary of the season:
- Kolovy
- Christina Vatcheva
- Plan 9 from Open Space
Fortunately, all three were also fruitful. Christina Vatcheva in the middle of September simply struck with the aroma when harvesting!
Harvest
Especially impressed by:
- Crazy Cherry Barry
- Yellow bag
- Emerald apple
Let me remind you that all varieties grew for the first time. The potential of many has not yet been revealed.
Struck with beauty, delicious
Liked by all indications
- Hot Embers and Delicious - Powerful Red Beefs
- Minusinskie, all five of my varieties
- Large striped boar
- Dzy-Yu-Dzy-Bi-Yu - minke babies
Something went wrong
- Okay, not very productive, but cracks... I began to shoot some varieties in milk ripeness, so that they would be more intact. More than half of the varieties were involved in this business. Small-fruited not so, but these varieties were few.
- My household never fell in love with a single green-fruited variety, and there were five of them. Well at least my friend's daughter really appreciated it.
- There were surprises, not the varieties that I sowed. This was to be expected, since she sowed many young American varieties, recent hybrids.
