What to do with it? Take out of the site? Let's figure it out.

Where to put clay on the site

Clay soil does not harm such plants as: chrysanthemums, lilacs, red currants, viburnum, irga, jasmine, thuja, pine, etc. Onions, legumes, tomatoes, some varieties of potatoes, beets, carrots feel good in loamy soil.

1. In order not to take out such soil, you can add peat, sawdust, sand, tree bark, compost (in the fall). Then dig up with a shovel or mix with a pitchfork.

2. You can scatter in the corners of the site and pour a little compost, dry grass on top.

3. Clay is a valuable material. From it you can make curbs along the contour of the near-trunk circles of fruit and other trees. Water will not go away during watering and after rain.

4. Use clay to putty gaps, walls in buildings (chicken coop, shed, bathhouse, etc.).

Clay + sand will help with the stove cracking in the bath. But in the beginning, pour the clay with water (1: 3) and leave for a day. Then drain the water. The clay will turn out like sour cream (in consistency). Mix clay with sand (1: 1), add a stove if necessary, if the solution is greasy.

5. To level the area, raise the ground level. Mix clay and sand in half, level the place.

6. Clay castle. A layer of compacted clay is made along the contour of the foundation, the underground part of the basement, well, cellar, etc.

This is the protection of the structure from precipitation and flooding. This increases the service life of the structures.

7. For the compost heap. Place the clay on the bottom of the compost pit approximately 9 cm thick. Top with dry grass, hay or sawdust. Clay retains all nutrients.

8. You can hide clay on the site like this: build an alpine slide or rockery. But it must be remembered that not all plants do well in such soil.

Clay like fluff

Add organic matter to the soil: compost, humus. This will make the soil looser. They loosen well and make the soil like fluff bark, coniferous needles.

Sawdust is not recommended. In extreme cases, rotted sawdust. Plant in early fall siderates: mustard, clover or other similar plants. Can be planted in spring 2-3 weeks before planting garden crops.

It helps well to make heavy clay soil with loose lime, ash, chalk. Add them to the soil in the fall.
