China has created its own hydrogen production system for next-generation space rockets
So, according to information published in local media, the China Corporation of Aerospace Science and Technology (CASC) reported on the successful creation of a domestic hydrogen liquefaction systems designed to provide fuel for modern space launch vehicles, for example, such as "Changzheng-5b", as well as "Changzheng-7".
Why China needs its own hydrogen production system
So, according to the Global Times, the created CASC system successfully coped with the production of 35.55 cubic meters of so-called "green" fuel. At the same time, 35 hours were spent on production.
So, according to published data, the system is capable of producing up to 2.3 tons of hydrogen fuel in 24 hours. So engineers are confident that their own hydrogen production system will significantly reduce dependence of the Celestial Empire on imports and completely cover the need for this type of fuel for this moment.
In addition, the development and trial operation of such technologies will allow China to develop its own direction of hydrogen energy.
All these developments are aimed primarily at providing their own space projects with fuel. So, at the moment, projects such as the construction of a national space station in low orbit, the study of and further exploration of the Moon, Mars, as well as various promising asteroids, the creation of promising satellite and navigation systems.
So, according to official data, in the very near future (during this year), at least 40 space launches are planned in China. And if everything goes according to plan, then this number will become a new national record, given that this year has already taken place 30 successful launches.
China is systematically and thoroughly approaching the implementation of many projects, and therefore it is quite believed that the production of hydrogen will be established on a full-fledged industrial scale.
