Why Amsterdam curves at home: it turns out, so they were forced to build

Amsterdam - an amazing city, which I recently visited. In this case, it is absolutely not similar to other European capitals, such as Prague, Vienna or Madrid. At least, I thought so. Its main distinguishing feature is the unique style of architecture.

Residential buildings located in Amsterdam, is the main hallmark of the capital of the Netherlands. It was their most often depicted on postcards and magnets, which take their tourists.

Do you know what is the main feature of these buildings? The fact that they are located right next to each other. And if you look better, you'll see that these houses "went" and is about to flunk. Some heavily tilted forward, others are bevelled to the left or right. On certain streets of this defect is very noticeable.

Once we decided to take a boat trip on the famous canals of Amsterdam. During the river walk boat driver told interesting facts about the city and answered questions from tourists. I wondered why all the houses are slanted and are of one another. The man replied that building close constructed deliberately, so that they support each other.

The fact that the entire city is in the water, much like Venice. The soil under the apartment buildings watery, because of what the structure over time begin to "live your life", leaning in different directions. Many of them have been repaired over and over again.

In addition, often the water level rises in the channels. The water flooded the lower floors. This is also a negative impact on the state of residential buildings.

Despite this situation, the buildings are very attractive and unusual, in my opinion. In the end, the "Let's go" home - one of Amsterdam's attractions. If you have to visit this beautiful town, I suggest you be sure to take a tour by boat to ride through the capital and enjoy the unique architecture.

Of course, in these homes live it is very dangerous, but it seems that the inhabitants of the Netherlands have become accustomed and adapted to like.
