Small, but it looks spacious! 6 working methods for enlarging an apartment without overhaul and redevelopment
Overhaul and demolition of walls are far from the only ways to make a small apartment more spacious. There are also design techniques, multifunctional furniture, thoughtful zoning and competent planning. As a result, even the smallest small cell grows up and becomes a couple of square meters larger.
Good afternoon dear friends!
And all this happens due to the fact that our eyes are easily deceived! For them, with a stupid approach, you can easily make a room of 20 square meters cramped and very small, while while, using modern developments and techniques, a space of 7-8 meters is visually larger than it actually is business. The main thing is to understand where they need to be used and how, and the rest is a matter of technology!
And to prove this fact to you, as well as suggest six design chips capable of such a transformation of a small apartment, I prepared this material.
1.Multifunctional furniture. In fact, such furniture allows you to save a couple of real meters in an apartment, which is not enough for an area, for example, 32 sq. meters. You just need to think carefully about which one is best for your home. It will be a kitchen set with a built-in dining table, a wardrobe-partition, a sofa-work table or a whole wall transformer. Fortunately, today there is plenty to choose from!
Of course, such furniture is not cheap, but saving money does not always turn out to be a “plus”.
2."Airy" shelves with clear lines. It's no secret that a classic wardrobe with many shelves makes the apartment's space, which is already modest in size, heavier. Therefore, it is more correct to use an alternative solution - a cabinet on a metal frame. Its shelves are no less roomy than in a regular copy, but the design looks lighter and does not create obstacles to the human eye.
You just need to choose the right color palette so that the piece of furniture fits perfectly into your stylish interior.
3.Weightless partition. Studio apartments allow owners to save money when renovating them. But living in them is not always comfortable, you want to divide the space into functional zones, even if it is symbolic. So, to do this, you can use openwork, carved or minimalistic partitions. The human eye sees them, but does not notice them.
Such partitions can easily separate the living room from the bedroom, the kitchen from the dining room, or the hallway from the living room. The costs are minimal, and the results are evident.
4.Transparent furniture. Unfortunately, you can't make all the furniture invisible! But here are some small interior items, like a coffee table, bedside table or chairs, it is quite possible. You just need to find an online store specializing in the sale of transparent furniture and purchase the piece of furniture you need.
Such furniture clutters up the space less, therefore, the room looks more spacious.
5.Reasonable furnishings and layout. To rush to furnish the bedroom, living room, kitchen, hallway in the apartment somehow is fundamentally wrong. First, you need to think over everything: what kind of furniture you need, what kind of furniture you can refuse, where to find this or that copy that would meet your requirements 100%, etc.
For example, it would be prudent to place tall cabinets in the corners of the room, thereby freeing up the center of the wall. Just do not need to immediately occupy the free surface between them with massive shelves or bright decor. It is better to choose something laconic, aesthetic, almost imperceptible, then the room will look a little wider, higher and more spacious.
6.Correct color palette. We all know that light enhances. But you just don't need to go to extremes and, for example, make all-all surfaces snow-white. Let only the ceiling remain white. Walls can be light gray, light green, beige, blue, pink... Any discreet pastel shade will do.
If you want to double the effect of the light design, match the furniture to the color of the walls. Then it will merge with the surrounding surface and become almost invisible.
