Inter RAO plans to prevent energy shortages in Kazakhstan, which could be provoked by miners

Inter RAO, the only exporter of Russian electricity abroad, is considering the possibility of commercial electricity supplies to Kazakhstan.

This work is being carried out due to the fact that recently the number of so called miners (miners of electronic cryptocurrencies), and the existing generation was unable to cover the increased load.

Future supplies should save Kazakhstan from energy shortage

Thus, Inter RAO is actively discussing the possibility of commercial energy supplies to Kazakhstan, and if all goes according to plan, then active offers of Russian energy on the market will begin in November and December Kazakhstan.

This discussion is primarily conducted due to the strong underfunding of the existing generation in the neighboring country, as well as a disappointing forecast that in the coming cold weather the energy deficit could amount to a considerable 600 MW with a subsequent increase to 1 GW.

Such a bad situation has arisen due to the fact that the so-called preferential tariffs for some segments of the population, so many mining farms, after their ban in China, were transported to Kazakhstan.

And since they (mining farm) consume a huge amount of electricity in the process, it is not surprising that consumption has increased dramatically. And since the commissioning of new generating capacities is a slow and rather expensive process, and the issue needs to be resolved here and now, it is not surprising that the representatives of Kazakhstan first of all turned to the Russian Inter RAW.

Thus, according to preliminary calculations, Inter RAO in the "ideal" variant will be able to provide supplies at the level of 600 MW. And how the further possible increase in the deficit will be covered is still unknown.
