Why do builders confuse sand concrete and DSP? Sand concrete
In construction, a dry mixture of cement and sand is often used. There is an analogue on sale - sand concrete. Many do not even know about its existence. Some people confuse the concepts of sand concrete and cement-sand mixture. However, there are significant differences, and we will talk about this today.
Recently, builders often choose sand concrete. This is a ready-made mixture of cement, sand and various additives (plasticizer, fiberglass, set accelerators / retarders, etc.).
There are several types of sand concrete to achieve different results. It is easy to work with (just add water and mix thoroughly). Suitable for beginner builders. In addition, working with sand concrete saves time and effort. You do not need to look somewhere separately for sand, cement and other material to prepare a solution. Another advantage: no need to sift the sand to achieve the desired consistency.
Sand concrete used mainly for the arrangement of rough floors, as well as for heated floors. Sand concrete M100 is suitable for plastering (leveling) walls (excellent adhesion, ease of use).
A screed made of this material is not afraid of temperature extremes, has heat / sound insulation properties. The consumption is as follows: 10 cm. layer (1 sq.m.) 20 kg will be required. sand concrete.
Fine fraction mixture
Suitable for a small screed height (4-6 cm). It has greater ductility than coarse sand concrete. Has increased abrasion resistance.
Yet pros: Easy to trowel for a perfectly flat, smooth surface. Such a base does not even require further processing. Such material is chosen if they want to lay a parquet board, laminate.
Minuses fine-grained mixture: shrinkage during solidification, inferior in strength to coarse sand concrete.
Large fraction
For a high floor screed (7-8 cm), coarse sand concrete is suitable. It is durable and has no shrinkage (non-shrinking material). It is also used for the foundation, creating a basement. It cracks less and becomes like a stone.
Minus noticed only one. When solidified, large particles of crushed stone appear at the top. As a result, the surface is rough, rough. It is no longer possible to level it with an ordinary grater. Such a surface is only good for laying tiles or porcelain stoneware. If you need to lay the laminate, you will have to fill in a thin layer of self-leveling floor.
As for the brand of sand concrete. It is not a fact that the higher the brand (for example, M300 or M350), the better. It all depends on the goal. If you are making a base for a garage, warehouse (heavy loads), then we take a higher brand. The M200 brand is suitable for an apartment.
