The participants in the SIRIUS experiment to simulate the flight of people to the moon have been identified
The final list of participants in the SIRIUS-21 project has become known, within the framework of which a manned flight to the moon will be modeled as detailed as possible.
So three Russians, a couple of Americans, and a representative of the UAE will take part in the experiment. The composed "crew" must spend 240 days in isolation.
We are preparing to conquer the moon anew
The SIRIUS-21 insulation project should begin on November 4, 2021, and if everything goes according to plan, it will last 240 days. During this time, the Russians O. Blinov, V. Kirichenko, E. Karjakin, Americans W. Brown, E. Kowalski and UAE citizen Saleh Omar al-Ameri will be completely isolated from the outside world in a specially equipped ground block.
Any contact with the control center will be carried out via audio communication, and contact with the outside world will be possible exclusively through e-mail.
The purpose of this experiment is to test how people will behave in a closed and highly restricted space during a manned flight to the moon, landing on the surface, as well as returning to The earth.
Despite the fact that there is still no clear certainty with the super-heavy launch vehicle, Russia does not plan to abandon future flights to the moon.
And I would also like to remind you that representatives of the IBMP RAS (Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences) have already successfully completed an experiment to simulate a flight to the moon on a new promising Russian spacecraft "Eaglet".
All this was implemented as part of the project to prepare for the experiment. SIRIUS.
Despite all the existing uncertainties, scientists are optimistic and want to conduct the first autonomous flight (without a crew) already in 2023 and in order to check the ship, will be used "Angara". And the first manned flight is scheduled for 2025.
We will closely observe the progress of the experiment SIRIUS-21 and we hope that all experiments will be completed successfully, and in the next few years we will again see a man on the moon.
